Hygiene Practices and Procedures (COVID-19)

The Medusa Hotel has a duty of care to protect guests, staff, suppliers and the wider community.

While we have always had strict hygiene and cleaning standards, which have been celebrated by TripAdvisor with a 4.5 rating, due to COVID-19 we have introduced additional measures to create the safe environment required at this time.

Check in and check out
Arrivals and departures are staggered and social distancing is always adhered to. Express check-in and check-outs are available. On arrival each guest is required to use hand sanitizer (located in the foyer and reception area) and will receive a personal information document, which is a replacement of the compendium for hygiene purposes. Concierge assistance is available by phone, email or private appointment.

Guest rooms
Guest room amenities have been adjusted by removing non-essential items from the rooms for extra hygiene purposes; these include note pads, pens and the hotel services compendium. New room
servicing procedures include non-essential access to the rooms except for requested cleaning during the guest stay, fresh linen/towels and rubbish removal on request.

Housekeeping
All public areas and guest rooms are cleaned regularly to our high hygiene standards. Our outsourced laundry complies with the Australian standard which includes thermal disinfection and the use of Ecolab products. All sheets and towel are washed at 85 degrees and ironing at 192 degrees. Between each guest stay our housekeeping team use industry approved cleaning products which include alcohol-based products recommended by the Australian Department of Health and NSW Health.

Common/public areas
Aligned with Government and expert health advice frequent cleaning and disinfecting procedures of
public areas are adhered to. Places which are frequently touched such as door handles and hand rails will be cleaned and disinfected regularly and thoroughly.

Hotel staff
The Medusa team adheres to strict hygiene. Management aligns with government and expert health
advice including frequent washing of hands, alcohol hand rub in public areas and wearing of gloves
when required. Our team maintains and coordinates social distancing.

Deliveries and services
Hotel deliveries are staggered during COVID-19 period. Guest deliveries are coordinated at the front
door entrance only.

Promotions and events
In accordance with the Australian Department of Health and NSW Health, promotions and events are
limited and restricted to numbers, for example a 10-person wedding.

We know our guests are experiencing challenging times during the Coronavirus pandemic and we want to assure them we care and are diligent in creating a safe environment in all aspects of the hotel – we will leave no stone unturned. This has always been our Medusa moto and we look forward to the future with optimism.
